Man out on felony bail jumping arrested following 22-mile pursuit in FDL | By Sgt. Logan Will

November 18, 2024 – Fond du Lac Co., Wi – On Monday, November 18, 2024, at 8:50 a.m., deputies from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the North Fond du Lac Police Department, attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Wisconsin Ave. near Winnebago Street in the Village of North Fond du Lac on a subject wanted on a felony warrant. He was known to law enforcement and has a violent criminal history.

As deputies attempted a high-risk traffic stop, the vehicle evaded deputies by driving through front yards before getting back onto Wisconsin Avenue. The vehicle pursuit continued north on Prospect Avenue, which turns into Van Dyne Road.

The vehicle continued through Van Dyne and into Winnebago County, traveling north on CTH R. At the intersection of CTH R and USH 45, one of the pursuing deputies was able to channel him south onto USH 45.

The pursuit continued south back into Fond du Lac County where a sheriff’s deputy was able to successfully deploy a set of tire deflation devices at Lakeshore Drive and Kinker Road. A second set of tire deflation devices was successfully deployed north of Lakeshore Drive and Howard Litscher Drive.

Shortly thereafter, a deputy with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was able to successfully perform a P.I.T maneuver on the vehicle, bringing the pursuit to a stop.

The driver, a 41-year-old male from Eden, was taken into custody. He was later transported to the Fond du Lac County Jail on charges of fleeing / eluding law enforcement, 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety, possession of methamphetamine, felony bail jumping and his warrant.

He was currently out on a $1,000 signature bond through Fond du Lac County for multiple drug charges and is on active parole.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the North Fond du Lac Police Department, City of Fond du Lac Police Department, and Troopers with the Wisconsin State Patrol. The pursuit covered 22 miles. No injuries were sustained stemming from the incident and one patrol car sustained minor damage during the P.I.T. The suspect vehicle was also damaged.
