July 19, 2021 – Washington Co., WI – On Sunday, July 18, 2021 at 6:27 p.m. the Washington County Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting a motorcycle vs. tree crash in the 4900 block of Hubertus Road in the Village of Richfield.
Witnesses reported the motorcycle operator was wearing a helmet but was severely injured and began CPR shortly after locating the unconscious male driver.
Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office along with members of the Richfield Fire Department responded to the scene.
The operator, a 23-year-old Washington County resident, was transported to Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls and later flown to Froedtert Medical Center in Wauwatosa. The Sheriff’s Office was later notified the operator of the motorcycle passed away due to the injuries suffered in the crash.
The initial investigation revealed the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Hubertus Road at a high rate of speed when the driver failed to negotiate a sharp curve in the roadway. The motorcycle operators name is not being released at this time.
The crash remains under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and no further information will be released.
This is the fourth fatal motor vehicle crash for Washington County in 2021.
