August 17, 2022 – Ozaukee Co., WI – On Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at approximately 1:53 a.m. the Ozaukee County Sheriffs responded to a two-vehicle crash on I43 southbound N. Lake Field Road in the Town of Grafton.
A 2016 international semi-tractor trailer was traveling southbound on I43 when it was rear ended by a 2010 Ford focus that was traveling at a high rate of speed.

The semi-tractor trailer was driven by a 59-year-old male from the city of Milwaukee. The Ford Focus was driven by a 34-year-old male from the Village of Grafton. The driver of the Ford Focus was pronounced deceased at the scene
I 43 southbound was temporarily closed for approximately 4.5 hours while the crash reconstruction was being conducted.
The crash remains under investigation and no additional information is available at this time.
The Sheriff’s office was assisted by the Grafton Fire department, Mequon fire department Thiensville fire department, Town of Grafton fire department, Ozaukee County Highway Department, Lancers Towing and the Ozaukee County Crash Reconstruction Team.
