October 18, 2021 – Washington Co., WI – Washington County Sheriff Martin Schulteis offered a couple updates following Saturday’s fatal accident at County Trunk Z and Pleasant Valley Road.
According to the Sheriff:
- one man in his mid-50s from Washington County was in the striking vehicle
- authorities do not believe impairment was a factor in the accident however the speed of the striking vehicle is being reviewed.
- the accident review will take about a week
- An initial investigation showed a westbound vehicle on Pleasant Valley Road failed to yield for the stop sign and struck the southbound vehicle at a high rate of speed.
- the stop sign on Pleasant Valley Road to the west of CTH Z was leveled in the accident and a temporary replacement sign was put up until a permanent sign is installed.

There were two children in the Severance vehicle and according to family the girls are recovering at Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee.
