“The lives of mothers and their unborn children should be protected. This past year revealed that there needs to be clarity in the abortion law. This bill provides much-needed clarity to our medical community and gives them the freedom to do their job and save lives.
“Along with protecting the unborn, I have voted in favor of providing grants to pregnancy resource centers. These resource centers provide critical services such as: crisis pregnancy counseling, unwed mother support, abstinence programs, care of mothers and babies, and safe haven housing, providing help to those mothers who need it most.
”Adoption is a preferable alternative to abortion and our government should be providing assistance to those seeking adoption. I voted to fund an adoption grant program because I believe that these children deserve a loving family.”
Sen. Dan Knodl represents the 8th Senate District which includes portions of Washington, Waukesha, Ozaukee, and Milwaukee Counties.
