West Bend, WI – Ultra-fast internet and a new TV provider are on the way to West Bend thanks to a major private investment by TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®), which will build an all-fiber internet network in the community.
The network, which will be TDS’ first fiber build in Washington County, will serve nearly 14,000 homes and businesses with internet speeds up to 8Gig, while 10Gig dedicated connections will be available for businesses.

TDS’ plans demonstrate the importance of fast and reliable internet for families, students, remote workers, public safety agencies, and many others.
“We’re excited to bring our fiber network to West Bend and help the community continue to grow and prosper. This investment of millions of dollars of private capital will upgrade an essential part of infrastructure while improving residents’ quality of life,” said Drew Petersen, TDS Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs.
Fiber internet is considered the “gold standard” of residential internet connections but its availability is scattered, as only 43 percent of U.S. households have access to fiber, according to the Fiber Broadband Association.
Headquartered in Madison, TDS is making a major fiber network expansion in Wisconsin with projects in development in virtually every corner of the state.
Construction on the network is expected to begin early next year.
In addition to fast internet, West Bend residents will get access to TDS’ TV product, TDS TV®+, which offers local and national networks, integration with popular streaming services, the ability to start shows over, and cloud DVR. Phone packages and service bundles are also available.
Helping the communities it serves is a core part of TDS’ mission. The company will be active in West Bend through sponsorships, donations, and other activities.
“West Bend’s ideal location in southeastern Wisconsin, strong local businesses, vibrant downtown area, and cultural amenities are just a few reasons why the community is a perfect fit for TDS and our values,” Petersen said.
West Bend joins a growing list of Wisconsin communities in which TDS has projects in development.
Founded in Madison in 1969, TDS has fiber network projects planned or under way throughout the state, from Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls in the northwest, Brookfield and New Berlin in the southeast, Green Bay in the northeast, to Onalaska, Janesville, Oshkosh, Sheboygan, and many points in between.
