A handful of volunteers from the West Bend Sunrise Rotary took advantage of the warm temp on Saturday to clean up some of the lights at Enchantment in the Park. The annual event, to raise money and donations for area food pantries, wrapped up on a high note in 2015.
According to organizer Lori Yahr more than 40,000 people attended the event and donated 24,750 pounds of food.
Enchantment got a solid shot in the arm this year as the inaugural Husar’s Diamond Dash 5k run/walk raised over $5,100.
There were 309 participants that dashed through the holiday light display. Runners and walkers of all ages took advantage of the good weather and perfect holiday backdrop.
Final revenue totals for the 2015 event have yet to be released.
More than 5,100 volunteer hours are invested each year at Enchantment in the Park as local Rotary and Kiwanis groups team up on the holiday light display.
Enchantment in the Park is powered by Wesbury.
