July 28, 2024 – Dodge Co., Wi – On July 28, 2024 at approximately 8:26 a.m., the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office received numerous reports of a plane that was flying low and sounded like it was having engine issues. A short time later it was reported the plane had landed in a farm field.
A deputy from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and an Officer with the Horicon Police Department responded to the area of Raasch Hill Road and County Highway TW in the Town of Hubbard and located two airplanes in a farm field.
The pilot of the disabled plane was identified as a 28-year-old male from the State of Georgia. He informed law enforcement he was losing power to his single engine aircraft. This lead to him making an emergency landing in the farm field as he could not make it to an airport.
The second plane on scene was traveling with the disabled plane and landed in the field to check on the pilot. Both planes were on their way back to Georgia from the EAA show in Oshkosh.
Thankfully there were no injuries or property damage during this emergency landing.
Assisting with this investigation was the Horicon Police Department.
