Richfield, WI – The 2022 Partisan Primary Election is Tuesday, August 9, 2022, and the polling location at Northbrook Church, 4014 Hwy 167/Holy Hill Road will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
As residents may be aware, Hwy 167 from Hwy 164 to Hwy 175 is currently closed, except for the allowance of “local traffic,” due to a road resurfacing project by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT).
WisDOT has communicated that the closure of Hwy 167 to only “local traffic” will last for the duration of the project, from July 11 to August 28. Residents and businesses located within the closure area in Richfield have been encouraged to access their destinations from the nearest cross street rather than drive the length of the project corridor.

To avoid Election Day congestion within the WisDOT work zone, and out of an abundance of concern for the safety of the workers in the project area, Village Staff is asking Village residents to consider accessing Northbrook Church off Hillside Road on August 9.
According to the WisDOT Project Manager, it has been explained to Staff that all residents will be able to utilize Hwy 167 to access Northbrook Church on Election Day on Tuesday, August 9. However, Hwy 167 will still be an active construction site on this date with many workers, heavy equipment, road signs, and construction barricades/cones in and around the area.
Because Northbrook Church is squarely within the WisDOT project limits, on Election Day, we are asking residents who might ordinarily utilize Hwy 167 to go to the polls to consider reaching the election site off Hillside Road. Doing so will mitigate the potential for delays and congestion within the construction zone and will be a safer alternative for those uncomfortable navigating along this stretch of Hwy 167.
Village Staff has prepared a map showing alternate routes that drivers can potentially utilize to access Northbrook Church. The Village’s Department of Public Works will also be posting blue wayfinding signs at intersections along the detour routes to direct residents to Northbrook Church on the day of the election. The detour routes will direct drivers to use the western entrance of Northbrook Church off Hillside Road. There will be directional signage in the interior of the parking lot of Northbrook Church to direct voters to the eastern parking lot and eastern doors, which is the parking lot and entrance residents use on Election Days.
PLEASE NOTE: The Village is committed to ensuring that all residents who have the legal ability to vote, can. The Village will be disseminating information related to these detour routes on the Village’s website (www.richfieldwi.gov), social media pages, and local news outlets. We also encourage residents to call Village Hall at (262) 628-2260 should they have any questions regarding this information or to consider Absentee Voting at the Richfield Village Hall, located at 4128 Hubertus Road, during the week of August 1 through August 5, 2022.
