October 28, 2020 – Jackson, WI – Elaine G. Schalk (nee Gaspardo), 91, of Jackson, formerly of West Allis and Oxford, passed away peacefully on Sunday October 25, 2020 at Jackson Crossings in Jackson.
She was born on April 3, 1929 to the late Douglas and Juanita (nee Nacius) Gaspardo. She grew up in West Allis and later lived in Oxford. On July 9, 1949 she was united in marriage to Francis Schalk. Together they raised their six children.
She was a Cub Scout leader for the children. Elaine worked as a Nurse Aide for many years until retirement. They built a retirement home up north. She loved the wildlife and birds. Elaine enjoyed sewing, needle work, quilting, and crocheting. She also enjoyed cooking and baking. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Those Elaine leaves behind to cherish her memory include her five children, Katharine Kramer, Judy Schalk, Peter Schalk, Daniel (Sue) Schalk, and Paula (Tom) Luba; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Julia Dimova-Schalk; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Francis Schalk; a son, David Schalk; and a grandson, Jeremy.
