October 28, 2021 – Germantown, WI – On Thursday, October 28, 2021 at approximately 2:53 p.m., Germantown Police Officers responded to a retail store on County Line Road reference a retail theft in progress.
Upon arrival, the suspect fled from officers and a foot pursuit occurred southbound into Menomonee Falls.
The suspect discarded a loaded pistol during the foot pursuit and was eventually taken into custody by officers south of County Line Road.
The 18-year-old male suspect from Milwaukee was arrested and transported to Washington County Jail.
A request for charges will be sent to the Washington County District Attorney’s Office for the following offenses: retail theft, resisting/obstructing an officer, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of marijuana, possess cocaine with intent to deliver, and felony bail jumping.
The suspect also had multiple warrants for his arrest.
One officer suffered a minor injury during the foot pursuit; the officer is currently not requiring medical treatment.
This incident clearly illustrates how a “routine” call can turn into a very serious incident involving multiple officers who have to make split-second decisions. The officers involved did an outstanding job bringing this incident to a quick, successful conclusion.
Notice once again the person involved is already out on bail for other charges. I am sorry, but you are stealing, have drugs and weapons in your possession, you are by definition a DANGEROUS CRIMINAL and should be treated as such at your bail hearing. Stop worrying about what defendants can afford, and start worrying about the safety of your constituents.
