Jan. 3, 2019 – Kewaskum, WI – There are two seats up for election April 2, 2019 in the Kewaskum School District and on Wednesday afternoon Doug Gonring and incumbent Tim Ramthun turned in the appropriate paperwork to run for the posts.
“I just wanted to do something for the community and change the positions on the board,” said Gonring.
In April 2017 Gonring ran as a write-in candidate for the Kewaskum School Board. The final tally showed of the six candidates the write-in revceived 464 votes and finished last.
Ramthun has been on the school board six years.
Board member Mary Miller’s term is also expiring. She’s been on the Kewaskum School Board for 12 years.
Craig Staffin also submitted papers to run for school board.
Each seat carries a three-year term.
Ramthun has been elected to succeed Rep. Jesse Kremer as the Rep. in the 59th Assembly District. He will be sworn into office in Madison on Monday, Jan. 7 at 2 p.m.
