West Bend, WI to participate in statewide Donate Life flag-raising to honor organ donors & recipients  

West Bend, WI – In recognition of National Donate Life Month, a Donate Life Flag-Raising Ceremony will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 1:08 p.m. This event serves to honor organ, tissue, and eye donors and their families, while raising awareness about the urgent need for registered donors.

West Bend’s ceremony will feature Laura Jones, a living kidney donor, and Lee Casati, a kidney transplant recipient, who will share their powerful personal stories of organ donation and transplantation.

At 1:08 p.m., the Donate Life flag will be raised to symbolize that one organ donor can save up to eight lives. A moment of silence for 1 minute and 4 seconds will follow, recognizing the 104,000 patients currently waiting for a life-saving transplant nationwide.

Following the ceremony, attendees are invited to a reception with snacks and light refreshments inside the library.

 Location: West Bend Community Memorial Library, 630 Poplar St., West Bend, WI 53095
(Ceremony to be held outside in Patron’s Park or indoors in case of inclement weather.)

The West Bend High School, 1305 E. Decorah Road, will also be participating in a flag rising ceremony on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 7:15 a.m. Guests must register with the office before attending.
