West Bend, WI – There is a primary election in West Bend on February 16, 2021 as three candidates vie for one aldermanic seat in District 2.
Common Sense Citizens of Washington County hosted a candidate forum in February. In attendance were Chris Thompson and Jeremy Hahn. Incumbent Mark Allen was not in attendance but indicated if anyone wanted to contact him they could.
Chris Thompson is has lived in WB 17 years with his wife and two kids. He has worked in manufacturing for 13 years and is currently the marketing manager for Johnson Controls. Thompson has concerns about the council increasing property taxes. Thompson also wants to promote business in the community and said public safety is one of his top concerns.
Jeremy Hahn is owner of Garden Lounge, Inferno and the Boardroom in downtown West Bend. Hahn was born and raised in West Bend. He is a 2001 graduate of Marquette University. His dad was a projectionist at the local theatre. Hahn wants to invest in community. He said he is a good listener and wants to improve traffic conditions and fire-related issues.
The candidates for District 2 alderman addressed issues including road repair, taxes, economic opportunity and transparency.
There are contested races in the remaining three even districts in West Bend; those races will be determined during the April election.
