Difficult road loss for UWM at Washington County | By Tate Stoeckmann

February 7, 2020 – Washington Co., WI – UWM at Washington County faced off against a talented UWO at Fox Cities team in Menasha on Wednesday night.

 

The Cyclones dominated the floor early by grabbing offensive rebounds and then capitalizing on second-chance points.

Their offense was powered by Dan Hiroskey and Jason President who created an explosive duo from the inside and behind the arc.

Following a solid four minutes of defensive stops, the Wildcats were only down by eight points going into halftime trailing, 50-42.

With about seven minutes to play in the second half, the Wildcats found themselves down by five points after mounting a comeback.

Defensive rebounding and quick transition points helped the Wildcats get back into the game.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 David Britton led the scoring run and finished with 54 points.

 With less than one minute to go, the Wildcats trailed by one.  However, even after holding their defense by getting back-to-back stops, the UWO at Fox Cities Cyclones hit two clutch free throws to extend their lead by three.

With eight seconds left, the Wildcats were unable to tie the game and lost 97-94.
