West Bend, WI – Cast members from West Bend Theatre’s annual production of “A Christmas Carol” will be hosting a “Dickens of a Food Drive” in front of West Bend Walmart, 1515 W. Paradise Drive, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2023.
Actors will be costumed as Victorian-era Londoners to help remind people of the need to help those less fortunate. A pick-up truck with a well-marked banner on its side will let people know where to drop off extra grocery items for the local West Bend Food Pantry.

“We’re helping to re-stock the food pantry as we look toward Christmas, with ‘A Dickens of a Food Drive,'” said board president, Nancy Storrs. “We are happy to accept current-dated, canned, boxed, or bagged dry food items from your home cupboards. Paper products and diapers are also welcome. “I am sure Charles Dickens would have approved,” Storrs said. “Rumor has it that Ebenezer Scrooge may make an appearance, but he will be learning how to give back to the community.”
