5 departments respond to house fire in Hartford, WI | By Chief Paul Stephans

March 24, 2024 – Hartford, WI – The Hartford Fire and Rescue Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 600 block of McKinely Avenue in the City of Hartford at around 3:20 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2024.

The homeowners arrived home, discovered the fire, and called 911.  The owners were able to safely remove their two dogs from the home, but a family cat remained unaccounted for.  The cat was later found alive and well.

Fire personnel were able to control the fire quickly.  No one was injured in the fire, but the house and all its contents suffered major damage due to the fire.  Preliminary damage estimates are $150,000.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.  The American Red Cross was notified to assist the owners.

Assisting the Hartford Fire Department were the Hartford Police, Water and Electric Departments, St. Lawrence, Slinger, Richfield, and Jackson Fire Departments.  Richfield EMS did respond to a medical emergency in Hartford’s response area while the Hartford crews were battling the fire.
