Jackson, WI – The Department of Natural Resources has a deer carcass Dumpster this year at a DNR owned lot in the Jackson State Wildlife area on Division Rd. between Hwy 60 and Pleasant Valley Road.
“This is the first year we’ve had this resource available in the county for hunters who are looking to legally dispose of deer carcasses upon harvest/ meat processing and have no other means of carcass disposal,” said DNR agent Dan Nehls. “Illegal dumping of wild animal carcasses on road shoulders and DNR parking areas is one of my top complaints this time of year. This will hopefully provide other legal means and is intended only for deer carcasses.”
The DNR also has a CWD sampling both at the DNR office at Pike Lake where hunters can submit their deer head for free testing.
