1 man killed in single vehicle crash in Washington County, WI | By Sgt. Brad Rodich 

October 31, 2022 – Washington Co., Wi – On October 30, 2022 at 12:55 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center took a report of a truck that had gone through a cornfield, hit an embankment and struck a tree in the area of Glacier Drive and CTH D.

The caller reported the airbags were deployed and the single occupant appeared to have a head injury. West Bend Rescue, Kewaskum Rescue, Kohlsville First Responders and Sheriff’s Office Deputies were subsequently dispatched to the scene.

Upon the first deputy’s arrival, the driver was found to be unresponsive and not breathing. The deputy was able to remove the operator, a male in his early sixties from the greater West Bend area, from the vehicle and begin life saving measures.

Rescue arrived and continued life saving measures until they were ultimately stopped at the scene after no success.

The initial investigation revealed that the truck was eastbound on CTH D approaching Glacier when the truck veered right off the roadway and entered a cornfield, continued straight though the field into an adjacent soybean field before striking the road embankment for Glacier Road south of CTH D, going over Glacier Road into the trees on the east side of the road where the vehicle came to rest.

The Washington County Accident Reconstruction Team was requested to the scene to further document and investigate. This crash. remains under investigation at this time.
