Name released in fatal crash in neighboring Dodge County | By Sheriff Dale Schmidt

August 15, 2022 – Dodge Co., WI – On August 9, 2022 at approximately 5:19 p.m., the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash on the northbound off-ramp of STH 26 to eastbound travel onto STH 16, in the Township of Emmet.

Initial investigation showed a 2015 Toyota was traveling north on the STH 26 off-ramp to eastbound travel of STH 16, but the Toyota failed to negotiate the curve.  The Toyota traveled off of the roadway and overturned multiple times.

The female driver (sole occupant) of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dodge County Medical Examiner.

The driver of the Toyota was identified as Stacy L. Sigmund, 42, from Jefferson, Wisconsin.  An investigation by the Dodge County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has determined the crash is a traffic fatality.

Assisting at the crash scene were Watertown Fire Department, Watertown Paramedics, Watertown Police Department, Flight for Life, Dodge County Crash Investigation Team, Dodge County Emergency Response Team, Dodge County Medical Examiner, Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Chaplain.

 

The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and the Dodge County Medical Examiner.
