Snowboarder Courtney Rummel of West Bend headed to Olympics in Beijing

January 30, 2022 – West Bend, WI – Courtney Rummel of West Bend is Beijing bound. The 18-year-old snowboarder was named to the team roster of the 2022 Olympic Winter Games.

Rummel will be representing the United States in Beijing as an official member of the US Olympic Snowboard Slopestyle and Big Air Team.

– There are 26 members on the team U.S. Snowboard Team
– This team is one of the “strongest ever nominated in halfpipe, slopestyle, big air and snowboardcross”
 – Rummel will be competing Monday, January 24, 2022 in a freeski and snowboard event at Mammoth Mountain in Colorado. On Tuesday, January 25, 2022 she leaves for Beijing.
– Rummel is a strong favorite to take home the gold in the snowboard rookie slopestyle event at Mammoth Mountain – in 2020, she finished in the top 10 at the World Cup held in Mammoth.
– Snowboarding has 11 events at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games
– Training for women’s snowboard slopestyle at the Olympics begins February 5 and the finals are February 6
– Snowboard Big Air qualifiers are February 14 and the finals are February 15.
