Construction update on County Highway K in Washington County | By Ron Naab

June 19, 2019 – Washington Co., WI – Construction crews will finish pulverizing CTH K from Williams Road by St. Lawrence Catholic Church to Hwy 175 and by Friday the stretch from Hwy 175 to Addison Road will be blacktopped.

Reconstruction of County Trunk Highway (CTH) K, from Main Street to I‐41 in the Towns of Hartford and Addison began in early May 2019 and will be substantially completed by November.

The prime contractor for the project is Michels Corporation of Brownsville, Wisconsin. The construction project will be divided into three segments. Addison Rd to Krebs Dr will be closed to through traffic from the beginning of May to approximately the end of June. The section from Krebs Dr to State Truck Highway (STH) 175 will be closed to through traffic from the end of June to the end of August.

The final section from STH 175 to Main St will be closed to through traffic from the end of August until the final completion of the reconstruction in November. Improvements will include: grading, asphalt, curb and gutter, storm sewer, bypass and turn lanes, and sight line improvements.

Please follow the posted detour routes utilizing I‐41, STH 33, STH 175, STH 83, CTH W, CTH S, and CTH U.

Detour routes will change as the stages change. Local residents are asked to use extra caution when driving in the construction area and to obey all flagmen and construction signs. Alternate routes should be utilized if possible to avoid delays.
