April 29, 2022 – Washington County, WI – Washington County Clerk of Circuit Court Theresa Russell has announced she is not seeking re-election to the role she has served since 2011. Russell joined Washington County in 1989 and advanced through various roles before taking the department’s top office through the election process.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the county and its residents in this important
role,” said Russell.
“I am proud of the accomplishments of my staff who are an amazing team, including their work to digitize the court records maintained on paper and microfiche, upgrades to the audio/visual equipment in the Justice Center, and being a leader in court collections in Wisconsin. It has truly been an honor to work with so many incredible people during my time as the clerk of circuit court.”
The Clerk of Circuit Court is a partisan elected position that will be on the November 8, 2022,
general election ballot.
To continue to serve county residents and the Washington County Circuit Court system
at the level it has come to expect, Russell is supporting Sarah Markos Adjemian’s bid to
become her successor. The judges appointed Sarah five years ago as Washington
County Register in Probate.
