Removing deceased voters from WisVote | By Rep. Tim Ramthun

November 18, 2021 – Washington County, WI – Last week, my office introduced LRB 5175/2 with Senator André Jacque (SD1) to clean up the voter rolls.

The majority of Wisconsin citizens have been demanding action with election integrity for months. Many point to the multiple irregularities found within the WisVote database.

The WisVote database currently reflects approximately 7.1 million registered voters.

The population of Wisconsin is roughly 5.8 million and of that population, it is estimated that 4.5 million are of voting age.

This bill is simple. It seeks to clean up the voter database by removing deceased voters from the official voter registration list on a periodical sequence. It also provides a penalty to those who willfully neglect or refuse to do so.

  1. You would think doing this would be COMMON SENSE…but dereliction is so bad a criminal charge has to be tied to the dereliction to get it to stop.
