It’s with a heavy heart to pass along the news that Chuck Myrhum has died. Myrhum was the funeral director and owner of the Myrhum- Patten Funeral Home.
According to the funeral home website: Chuck Myrhum was born and raised in West Bend. As a boy and young man he helped his father at the furniture store and funeral home. He graduated from West Bend High School in the class of 1970. Chuck continued his education at UW-Milwaukee, graduating with a BBA degree as an accounting major. Still he felt his real calling was funeral service so he went back to college and became a licensed funeral director in 1977.
While taking over operations of the funeral home he also felt the need to help other funeral directors. This led him to become a member of the board of directors of the Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association (WFDA) in 1982 and president of the association in 1988. He has continued to serve on committees, at both the state and national level.
Through the years he has also designed several funeral products that have been used by funeral homes throughout the country.
He is a long-time member and a past-president of the West Bend Kiwanis Club. During his non-working hours Chuck enjoys golf and boating.
Visitation for Chuck Myrhum will be Friday evening at funeral home with the funeral Saturday morning. More details are forthcoming.
