VIDEO | Baby chicks have arrived at Schmidt Century Farm in West Bend, Wi

West Bend, Wi – Come take a peek at the baby chicks that arrived this week at Schmidt Century Farm, 5485 St. Anthony Road in West Bend, Wi. It’s a great field trip for spring break if you’re staying in the area and looking for adventure for the kids.

Deanna Schmidt from Schmidt Century Farm picked up white leg horn chicks. “These will be our egg layers,” she said. “We also have about 100 Cornish cross chicks for broilers.”

Schmidt said guests can look at the chicks while shopping at The Farm Store.

“I am going to have these little baby chicks in The Farm Store so when you come in to visit us you can pet the baby white leg horns,” she said.

The chicks are not for sale as the Schmidt’s will be using them as egg layers, so customers will be able to purchase farm-fresh eggs.

If you want to continue your farm adventure, ask the Schmidt’s to see the chicks and ducklings that hatched four weeks ago. Those guys are in their quirky teenager phase and really noisy.

While you’re at the farm take a look around the new Farm Store. Ask questions, explore the history of the locally owned family farm.
