May 7, 2020 – Kewaskum, WI – The Village of Kewaskum is celebrating its 125th anniversary. Below is a message from Village President Kevin Scheunemann.
Thank you to everyone for sharing their wonderful historical photos! Today, May 7, 2020, is the official 125th Anniversary of the Village of Kewaskum. The Village has come a long way from May 7, 1895.
I urge everyone to read “Kewaskum Wisconsin: The Making of a Village”.
This valuable book is available locally at Village Hall, the local supermarket, or Kewaskum Historical Society.
It details the struggles, the successes, the community for the past 125 years. What a valuable resource and perspective provided by community leaders Aaron Laatsch and Anne Trautner.
I am fortunate to serve as Village President on the shoulders of past leaders, that came before me, to make Kewaskum the great community it is today.
The fabric of this community is surely built on strong Christian values from the beginning, and has been blessed by God for building on that timeless foundation of biblical instruction.
As we move forward in the next 125 years, let us all carefully reflect on what has made this community a great place to live, and continue to build and develop Kewaskum into a community embracing timeless values for future generations.
God Bless.
Kevin Scheunemann,
Village President
