May 20, 2021 – West Bend, Wi – The Cedarburg Bulldogs came out in attack mode and shut out West Bend during a Thursday night matchup.

The Spartans were unable to generate any real offensive opportunities and barely able to breach their opponent’s defensive zone.

Cedarburg did not have these issues, scoring in the first few minutes of the game, followed by two goals, just minutes apart, in the latter stages of the first half.

The second half saw the scoring and the pacing more spread out, but still controlled by Cedarburg.

Goals scored for Cedarburg were by freshman Nadia Epshteyn, freshman Mary Stroebel (2), junior Rowan Liljegren, and junior Clare Van Ermen.

Spartans’ senior goaltender Lily Henschel did a great job in net as none of the goals allowed were due to her play and she made a great effort to keep the team in the game, but the offensive support never arrived.

The Spartans will look to get back on track as they take part in a nonconference invitational on Saturday, May 22 starting at 9 a.m. Cedarburg’s next game will also be Saturday at 12 p.m., when they travel to take on Appleton North.
