“I liked everything about this facility from the teachers and the volunteers are wonderful and welcoming and make us feel like family,” she said.
The facility offers indoor and outdoor riding. “It’s a great arena for when the weather is terrible,” said Erika.
Volunteers help with therapy sessions. There is hands-on guidance combined with encouragement as kids get to know their horse, brush, walk, and saddle them.
Riders get the same horse every time, so they can develop a relationship with the animal.
“My daughter loves to come; she looks forward to it,” said Erika. “We’ve seen so many improvements with coordination and balance and strength.”
Cedar Springs Ranch will be open this Saturday, August 17, 2024, so families, friends, kids, and neighbors can check out the facility for free. Take part in horse rides, trail walk, games, and face painting.
“We have group events that can be booked at the ranch, inviting everyone from homeschool and grade school groups, able-bodied and disability groups, corporate engagement, and community organizations,” said Ranch executive director Kelly Balsewicz.
The free event is open to the public from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
