West Bend – Cedar Community is extremely proud to share they have completed their annual state recertification survey of their Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation with ZERO deficiencies. This is the second year in a row Cedar Community’s skilled nursing care has received a citation-free survey.
Heather Suarez Del Real, RN, director of nursing noted, “A deficiency-free survey is not common, and two years in a row is incredible. These achievements are a direct result of the amazing and dedicated team at Cedar Community! The surveyors had great things to say about team members and everything they saw while at Cedar Community.” This is a testament to the steadfast dedication, compassion, and highly skilled work and care of every team member who works tirelessly to provide a life-enriching, purposeful environment for all our residents!

Cedar Community’s memory care, The Cottages, also received a deficiency-free survey. “This is a well-deserved honor for our team who continues to persevere through these ever-changing times of uncertainty. A deficiency is a violation of federal and/or state regulation. Surveys are not announced to the facility. They may be conducted at any time including weekends, 24 hours a day. Nursing homes participating in Medicare and Medicaid are required by federal law to undergo an annual survey and certification process.
Nursing homes must be in substantial compliance with Medicare and Medicaid requirements, as well as state law. All nursing homes that are certified for either Medicare, Medicaid, or both are required to abide by federal and state regulations. The regulations require nursing homes provide quality care and quality of life that is sufficient for residents to attain and maintain their highest practicable physical, emotional, and social wellbeing.
