Memorial Candlelight Vigil is Thursday, December 17 | By Ronna Corliss

Washington Co., WI – The holidays are an especially challenging time for families who have lost loved ones. The Washington County Heroin Task Force invites families, and all those affected by addiction, to attend a virtual Memorial Candlelight Vigil, Thursday, December 17, 2020.

The Task Force Candlelight Vigil Committee encourages anyone that has lost a loved one to addiction, or is affected by a family or friend who is addicted, to attend this free event.

There will be music and local speakers with lived experience.

“It is important to support those of us that have been affected by addictions,” said Pastor Lori Lossie of Still Waters Community Church in Jackson.

“An addiction not only affects the person, it affects the family, friends, and the community as a whole.  The rise in deaths in Washington County to Opiate/Opioid related deaths alone causes us to reach out,” said Ron Naab, a member of the committee.”

Please RSVP to this event by visiting the event’s Facebook page, or click HERE to respond.

Members of the Heroin Task Force will also be accepting personal care items before and after the vigil for sober-living homes in Washington County.

Ronna Corliss of Elevate said, “Please consider supporting others’ path in recovery by donating personal hygiene items, socks, underwear, snacks, books, art supplies, word puzzles and written words of encouragement to residents for the holidays.”

Items can also be dropped off at the Elevate Office in Jackson and in West Bend.
