February 11, 2025 – Fond du Lac Co., Wi – On February 11, 2025, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Deputy assigned to Campbellsport School District received information on a threat to school safety.
Initial investigation revealed that two 9th grade students were making direct plans, comments and threats to other students and staff that involved plans to conduct a school shooting.
This investigation is ongoing, and the two 9th grade students have been placed in secure detention awaiting a future court hearing on criminal charges. There is no immediate threat to public safety at this time.
The Sheriff’s Office takes all claims of threats to school safety seriously. The safety of students and staff is of the highest priority. We know that incidents like this can cause anxiety for students, families and staff.
The Fond du Lac Co. Sheriff’s Office wants the public to be informed of this situation and emphasize school safety through the importance of telling an adult, teacher or law enforcement if there is a concern or threat of any kind. We are all working together to keep our schools safe.

The Speak Up, Speak Out Resource Center will respond quickly and confidentially, in coordination with emergency services and school districts, to get help to you or someone who is hurting, struggling or in danger.
