April 4, 2023 – Fond du Lac Co., WI – On Monday April 3, 2023 at 12:03 p.m. the Rosendale Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation.
The operator of the vehicle did not stop and increased its speed. Rosendale Police Department Officer was operating with its emergency lights and siren activated and pursued the suspect vehicle eastbound on Hwy 23 from Rosendale towards Fond du Lac.
Deputies with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office were requested to deploy stop sticks in an attempt to disable the vehicle.
The suspect vehicle avoided a set of stop sticks deployed by a deputy on STH 23 near CTH Y and continued eastbound on STH 23. A second deputy with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office deployed stop sticks on STH 23 near Esterbrook Rd. in the Township of Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County.
The suspect vehicle struck the stop sticks and three of the suspect vehicle tires became deflated. The suspect vehicle then pulled over and the driver and only occupant was taken into custody after a high-risk vehicle stop.
The operator, a 22-year-old male from Milwaukee, was on bond for Carry Concealed Weapon and Possession of THC and was to not drive or operate a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license, which he did not have a valid driver’s license. The male was arrested for Operating While Under the Influence, Fleeing/Eluding, Bail Jumping and other traffic related offenses. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office along with Wisconsin State Patrol assisted the Rosendale Police Department.
There were no injuries in the pursuit, and the deflated tires was the only damage.
