West Bend, WI – It is one of my mother’s favorite plants in spring – she calls it a bridal wreath.
Brilliant white flowers cascading like streamers on a big belly of a bush. The heaps of white can easily be seen from the road as we drive through the country looking at worn but mighty red barns that remind her of home.
“We had a bridal wreath at the end of our driveway when we were growing up,” she said about her home on top of Old Gays Road in Gays Mills, WI; apple country.
At first we thought the bridal wreath as huge on the corner of Sixth Avenue and Chestnut Street in West Bend. That was easily dwarfed by the wall of white on Scenic Drive W. just south of Morrie’s Honda as we made our way back to Cedar Ridge.
Have you spotted a larger specimen? Please submit a photo and location so we can have a destination for our drive… We’ll post the winner at the end of the week.
