Bomb squad called to deactivate grenade in West Bend, WI | By West Bend Police

June 17, 2024 – West Bend, WI – On Monday, June 17, 2024, at approximately 9:07 a.m. a landscaper working in the area of the 1800 block of Morgan Drive discovered what appeared to be a grenade buried in the dirt beneath some shrubs.

The landscaper immediately called the West Bend Police Department who responded to investigate. The area was evacuated, and the Milwaukee County EOD (Bomb Squad) responded and removed the item.

The item was determined to be a deactivated grenade and appeared to have been in the shrubs for quite some time. Morgan Drive was closed for approximately two hours during the incident.

No one was injured. The case remains under investigation.
