“I’ve been part of this community all my life and chose to raise my family here because of the great school district and support we can receive. Growing up in Jackson and attending Jackson Elementary, the lessons I learned at a young age have shaped who I am today.”

Schulz works in the transportation industry. He is a familiar parent in attendance at West Bend School Board meetings and has been deeply involved in participating and learning about school district priorities and challenges.

“My priorities if elected are to help students and staff feel safe, increase academic performance and getting back to the basics of learning being reading, writing, and arithmetic. With my creative problem-solving and effective communication skills, I can help guide the West Bend Joint District #1 towards a more effective learning environment for students and staff alike,” he said.

Schulz lives in the City of West Bend. He is married with two children enrolled in the West Bend School District.

Candidates have until January 3, 2023 at 5 p.m. to file to run for office.  No signatures are required to run for school board, unlike other elected seats such as city council, county board, etc.

Prior to Christmas break, superintendent Jennifer Wimmer indicated four candidates had filed declarations of candidacy, with other sets of paperwork provided upon request, but not yet filed. While those names are public record an open records request was filed to release the information. So far there has been no response from the district.
