Barn fire in the town of Auburn last night | By Ron Naab

July 11, 2018 – Town of Auburn, WI – Shortly after midnight the Kewaskum Fire Department was summoned to a barn fire at N141 U.S. Highway 45 in the Town of Auburn just north of Kewaskum.

Upon arrival it was found that the large barn structure was fully involved. Mutual aid was requested from a number of fire departments over the next one-hour period of time.

Those responding along with Kewaskum Fire Department were engine and tenders [water hauling trucks] from Campbellsport, Boltonville, Jackson, Kohlsville, Beechwood, Fillmore, Eden, West Bend, Slinger, Newburg, Silver Creek, Allenton, St. Lawrence, Richfield and Random Lake.  Highway 45 was closed for more than seven hours with traffic control being done by Washington County and Fond du Lac County Sheriff Departments.

Water was transported initially from a hydrant on the northern edge of Kewaskum along with two ponds in the Town of Auburn.

At this time there were no reports of animals killed and no injuries to firefighters or other responders.  The barn is a total lost according to officials.
