Washington County Board Chairman Herb Tennies is stuck in an interesting dilemma as he tries to balances the challenges of Mother Nature this dry December. Tennies has snowblowers and salt to sell at his business, Tennies Ace Hardware. He also has to keep an eye on the county budget which includes spending taxpayers money wisely on road salt, plows and overtime.
This winter has been an anomaly as Wisconsin has experience an unseasonably warm December with little snow and ice. It’s an interesting dynamic for Tennies. Listen in….
By the way, Tennies is not running for office in April. After holding office for 50 years the District 2 County Board Supervisor filed non-candidacy.
Tennies was first elected in 1965; in 2008 he was elected chairman following in the footsteps of county board chairman Ken Mueller.
