November 24, 2024 – Arthur S. Seeger was born into eternal life on November 20, 2024, at the age of 92 at Froedtert Hospital, surrounded by his loving wife and children.

Seeger

Art was a proud US Marine who bravely served his country in the Korean War conflict, fighting on the 38th parallel in Korea.

In 1956, Art married his sweetie Elisabeth Brandis at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Brown Deer. Together, they created a life filled with love, faith and family.

He went on to serve his community as a police officer – first in the Village of Brown Deer where he grew up and then in the Village of Germantown where he and Liz moved to in 1967.

He “retired” as a Lieutenant at the age of 60. He then continued working at Herslof Optical in maintenance where he met and made many lifelong friends. He finally retired at the age of 82.

Art is survived by Elisabeth, his loving wife of 68 ½ years, his children Kelly (Rick) Oppenheimer, Karen (John) Rayner, Lisa (LeRoy) Neu, Scott (Jenise) Seeger, 10 grandchildren – Melissa and Eric Dobberfuhl, Joshua (Melissa), Jordan (Ashley), James and Jonathon Hauser, Leanne (David) Kalies, Taylor and Kelli Rae Neu, and Emily Seeger, 7 great-grandchildren – Sophia and Isabella Dobberfuhl, Joshua, Lorelei and Maverick Hauser, and Coraline and Weston Hauser.

He is further survived by his brother James (Joan) Seeger, sister Pam (Pat) Moran, sisters-in-law Ann Maas and Erika Wendt as well as many other loving nieces and nephews.

Art was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Helen (Dargatz) Seeger, his brother Ronald Seeger and many other loved ones.

Art’s greatest joys in life were his wife, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed attending as many of their sporting events as possible. He loved going to their beloved cottage in Boulder Junction, WI where he enjoyed many hours fishing and hunting.

He was fortunate enough to go on one of the first Stars and Stripes Honor flights open to Korean War Veterans in 2015. He was deeply involved in his church where over the years he served on various boards and committees.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 4 p.m. – 5:45 p.m., with a service of remembrance to follow at Trinity Lutheran Church of Freistadt at 10729 W. Freistadt Road, Mequon, WI 53097. Private committal service on Wednesday at the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church – Freistadt or the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight are appreciated.

Art left a legacy of love and devotion to his family that will live on for generations. We are comforted by the knowledge that we will one day be reunited with him in God’s Kingdom.

Rest easy Dad. Semper Fi
