January 28, 2022 – Dodge Co., WI – The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in connection with the bank robbery that occurred Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the Horicon State Bank in Neosho.
This suspect is also allegedly involved in a robbery that took place in Jefferson County.
Alan Schade, 43, of Columbus was taken into custody Thursday evening and has been booked into the Dodge County Jail. Of course, all persons are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
This expeditious, yet thorough investigation was a collaborative effort between the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and the Dodge County District Attorney’s Office. Various other law enforcement agencies also assisted in the investigative process. Sheriff Dale Schmidt would like to express extremely high praise for all involved in this investigation as this was a true team effort in identifying and arresting a suspect so quickly. This was not simply a Detective Bureau success, but included our Communications Officers and the Patrol Division as well as so many played a role in this investigation.
Sheriff Dale Schmidt would also like to thank the public for understanding that when incidents like this occur we are not able to always release details of the criminal activity that occurred. It is always of utmost importance to maintain the integrity of the investigative process. Frequently in these types of investigations, law enforcement will only provide information that the public truly needs to know as releasing information in an ongoing investigation can have detrimental consequences to successful arrest and prosecution of a perpetrator.
Please remember that all persons are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. No additional details will be released by the sheriff’s office at this time as even though an arrest has been made, it continues to be an ongoing investigation.
