A couple weeks ago http://www.washingtoncountyinsider.com posted some strong speculation that another Starbucks would be opening in the community.
Neighbors who get their fix with an Iced Caramel Macchiato or a Grande with a double shot of energy vanilla light are very familiar with the cozy and sometimes cramped condition at the Starbucks on Paradise Drive in West Bend.
A note regarding a second location was met with a statement from Starbucks Corporate: Hi Judy, Thanks for reaching out! Starbucks is always looking for great locations to better meet the needs of our customers and we are continually evaluating our store portfolio. At this time, we remain focused on serving customers in Wisconsin at our existing stores and have no store-opening plans to announce. Thank you for your interest in Starbucks. You may attribute the above to a Starbucks spokesperson.
With a Meijer under construction on S. Main Street a note was also placed to Meijer corporate seeing as the trend is ALL Meijer stores have a Starbucks Coffee as a tenant.
See response below from Meijer’s Frank J. Guglielmi, Senior Director Communications.
“Hi Judy, I received your questions regarding our West Bend site. Regarding leased tenant space, we currently plan to have a Starbucks and a FastCare Clinic. We also have two other leased spaces inside the store that are still not finalized.
The clinics are a growing tenant category inside our store. Details on the clinic include:
The clinics will offer convenient, affordable access to care for many minor health problems, such as cold and flu symptoms, sore throats, and ear, sinus and urinary tract infections, Meijer Health and Wellness Director Jacquelyn DeBruler said.
The effort is the latest way Meijer is strengthening its commitment to health and wellness by providing its customers with opportunities to lead healthier lifestyles through access to service and care.
“Meijer is committed to expanding convenient access to health care providers,” DeBruler said. “These partnerships give us an opportunity to connect local providers and patients, ultimately meeting people where they are.”
Side note on Starbucks…
So, what’s your prediction? Will Starbucks open in Meijer and still have its location on Paradise Drive and Main Street?
Keep in mind – the Starbucks inside Meijer doesn’t have a drive thru.
And what about the scuttlebutt regarding a Starbucks on the west end of town – possibly by Sendik’s.
Can the community of 31,000 support three Starbucks? Do we really need three??

Why would they put a Starbucks in so close to the one next to menards. We could use one on the other side of town I live on the north side and always have to go to the south side for most of my shopping. Connie
Would like to see more retail on east side of West Bend, on 33 and fill open spaces by subway.
I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A STARBUCKS ON THE NORTH SIDE OF TOWN. SOUTH SIDE HAS STARBUCKS AND DUNN BROS. US NORTH SIDERS COULD USE A CLOSER COFFEE SHOP.
