Allenton’s Wreaths Across America approaching final week | By Ron Naab

Allenton, WI – Mark Schellinger of the Fohl-Martin Allenton American Legion Post 483 reports 125 people have thus far donated to the Wreaths Across America project for the Allenton Post.

Some of the major donors to this year’s project are: Slinger High School Student Body, Allenton Lions Club, St. John’s Evangelical Church, Kohlsville Fire Department, Zuern Building Products, Kathleen Hoffman, and D11SC, Inc.

“We appreciate everyone who ordered wreaths for the grave of a loved one or for one of our hometown heroes graves,” said Ron Naab, Second Vice Commander.  “We are very appreciative in your willingness to recognize those that have served our country in the military.”

At 9 a.m. on Saturday, December 19 a contingency of volunteers will assemble at each of the following cemeteries:

Sacred Heart, Allenton       St. Mathias, Nabob      Peter & Paul, Nenno St. Anthony

St. Lawrence     St. John’s, Beaver Dam Road/CR WW    Zion Lutheran, CR D                       St. Peter Lutheran, Beaver Dam Rd. /Aurora Rd.

Those who ordered wreaths for other cemeteries may pick them up at the Allenton American Legion Club House, 419 Railroad Street in Allenton at 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

There are a limited number of wreaths still available for purchase.

Fill out the order form on the Legion Facebook Page or contacting Ron Naab at rjnaab@frontier.com or 262/629-9749.  Order forms are also available at Romie’s BP or Alma’s Café in Allenton through December 7.

The cost of a wreath is $15 and can be for a specific veteran that has passed away or an unspecific veteran’s grave.
