Allenton, Wi – The Allenton Fohl-Martin American Legion Post 483 is participating in the National Wreaths Across America TM (WAA) on December 14, 2024, at 9 a.m. This is the sixth year the post has done this fund raiser to honor our veterans who have passed.
The post needs support to continue this proud tradition for local fallen veterans. With support, a hand-crafted wreath made of all-American balsam will be placed on the headstones of local veterans.
Wreaths Across AmericaTM (WAA) is a national nonprofit organization founded in 2007. It is the goal of the foundation to have wreaths at more than 2,500 participating locations in all 50 U.S. states, including locations at sea and abroad. In 2023, 3 million veterans were honored with a wreath.
The WAA mission is to Remember, Honor, and Teach by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies. Remember our veterans who are devoted sons and daughters, fathers and mothers, sisters and brothers in the line to protect our freedoms. Honor our veterans by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies each December on National Wreaths Across America Day. Teach younger generations about the value of their freedom and the importance of honoring those who sacrificed so much to protect those freedoms.

This year the Allenton American Legion would like to have wreaths at each of the 18 cemeteries in the Slinger and Allenton area. The number totals 900 this year. This will allow those that wish to purchase wreath[s] for other cemeteries to do so as well.
Post 483 is encouraging volunteers to join the Allenton Legion Post on National Wreaths Across America Day, December 14 at 9 a.m.
