Allenton, WI – On Saturday, October 2 the Allenton American Legion Fohl-Martin Post 483 will hold a drive through brat fry at 341 Main Street in Allenton.
Veterans will be grilling great brats along with hotdogs from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
This is a drive-thru event to kick off the Wreaths Across America Campaign. The goal for the number of brats to be served is 600!
“We challenge our community to support this great food event,” said organizer Ron Naab.
Wreaths Across America is a national campaign to have a wreath placed on every grave of a veteran. The Allenton post has been doing this campaign for the past three years. This year the post has decided to address raising money for another 287 graves at 7 cemeteries in the Slinger area.
The Allenton American Legion Post is involved in many venues to support our community. Every spring the county Legion Post hosts an Oratorical Contest for the youth. The Allenton post is very much involved in the Junior Youth Shooting Sports and County Youth Government Day.
During the summer the post sponsors three young men from the Slinger School District to attend the Badger Boys State Camp. The American Legion Post 483 All-Star Baseball team, coached by Scott Godwin has been a very successful program as well.
To wrap up the Allenton American Legion Post 483 and Auxiliary’s community involvement includes 2 scholarships are awarded every spring to high school graduates related to a post member.
Customers are asked to enter in the west driveway, give your order, circle the building and pick up your order on the east side. Customers can order just a brat on bun with or without sauerkraut and/or onions for $4. For $5 receive a meal which includes a bag of chips, brat and a soda/water. Hot dogs are only $1 with a bun.
