Germantown Police respond to multiple alcohol-related crashes | By Chief Mike Snow

December 10, 2020 – Germantown, WI – We all know impaired driving occurs at all times of the day however Wednesday, December 9, 2020, the Germantown Police Department handled three separate incidents within a four hour time frame involving drivers who were allegedly under the influence. Two of these resulted in crashes.
At 1:19 p.m. Germantown Police Officers were dispatched to a one-vehicle accident on Mequon Road near Montgomery Drive after 911 callers reported a vehicle left the roadway striking a sign and a tree. The driver in this accident was transported to the hospital for injuries and arrested for OWI-1st offense.

At 4:28 p.m. Germantown Police Officers were dispatched to northbound I-41 near Holy Hill Road following several 911 calls reporting a vehicle swerving all over the road. This resulted in a two-vehicle crash with two people being transported to the hospital. The driver of one of those vehicles was arrested for OWI-4th offense and transported to jail.
At 5:28 p.m. Germantown Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the area of Maple, south of Lannon Road and subsequently took the driver into custody for OWI-3rd offense.
In addition to the above incidents officers also responded to several rescue calls, alarms, driving complaints, suspicious persons, theft, and fraud complaints.
Just a reminder to please be careful out on the roads. Some of these OWI complaints involve alcohol and some involve drugs, but they are all extremely dangerous. With the upcoming snow arriving this weekend we want everyone to stay as safe as possible.
