I just finished reading your delightful and romantic story about keeping up with Nancy Schultz and Jerry Cash. Thoroughly wonderful article and so glad you shared it with the reading public. I read it online.
I especially enjoyed reading how they love Polka music and I’m curious which style of Polka music they like. Is it Polish style like that played in Chicago or Pulaski and Stevens Point, WI or Dutchmen style and the list goes on. Depending on what style they like I may have some tapes for them and if they have an old phonograph I have some LP’s 33 rpm records too. Most of my tapes are of the Chicago-style Polkas.
My background with Polka Music goes back to the early 1960’s when I started playing in a Polka band as drummer. I recently was drummer for The Julida Boys polka band which hails from West Bend, though we retired around 2017 if I recall. Three of our members still live in West Bend / Allenton area. Those three combined and formed a group called Mellow Fellows and went to nursing homes to serenade the residents there, however the current pandemic put a hold on that.
If you can find out from the lovely couple what style of Polka music they like, maybe I can give them my tapes.
