February 10, 2020 – West Bend, WI – A new 4-way stop has been installed at the intersection of Chestnut Street and S. Silverbrook Drive in West Bend.
The new traffic-control measure was approved by the Traffic Safety Commission on January 13, 2020 after Police Chief Kenneth Meuler made a motion to install a 4-way stop at the intersection of Chestnut Street and S. Silverbrook Drive.
TADI also suggested to:
Remove the pedestrian crossing signs from the Chestnut Street approaches.
Install stop signs, stop lines, and crosswalks on all four intersection approaches, resulting in an all-way stop control.
Install ALL-WAY signs below the stop signs on all approaches.
Temporary installation of lighted stop signs to draw motorist attention to the change in traffic control.
Pretty soon we’ll be just like washburn, a 4 way stop at every intersection in town. I guess stop signs are cheaper than fixing the streets.
