Obit: Carl J. Wachs, Jr., 86, West Bend

Carl J. Wachs, Jr, 86, of West Bend, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 22,2016 at Cedar Community, West Bend.

 

He was born on September 25, 1929 to the late Carl Sr. and Alvina (nee Illian) Wachs in West Bend. He graduated from West Bend High School. On September 30, 1950 he was united in marriage to Mary Lhotka in West Bend. He worked for Stolper Company for many years and also drove truck. Carl was an avid golfer, enjoyed Friday night fish fry’s at Walden’s, and loved to sing. As a soloist he sang bass, but enjoyed singing duets with his wife over 60 years. Carl was very strong in his faith his entire life. He will be missed by all who knew him.

 

Those Carl leaves behind to cherish his memory include his three children, Gary (Beth) Wachs, Barbara (Mark) Hampton, and Linda Campbell; six grandchildren, Adam (special friend Barb Schwab) Wachs, Jeremy (Sarah) Wachs, Samantha (Jason) Tran, Eric (Helen Do) Hampton, Jessica Campbell, and Natalie Campbell; three great-grandchildren, Christian Wachs, Amelia Wachs, Carley Tran, and Jaxson Tran who is due soon; other relatives and friends.

 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary; brother, Harley (Margaret) Wachs; and son in law, Ralph Campbell.

 

A funeral service in remembrance of Carl will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend.

Carl’s family will greet family and friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.

Memorials to the West Bend Columns Scholarship program are appreciated by the family.
