October 27, 2019 – West Bend, WI – It was a mighty crisp Saturday morning, Oct. 26, and about a dozen West Bend Sunrise Rotarians donned hooded sweatshirts, knit hats and fluorescent yellow vests and hit a portion of Highway 45 in West Bend to tidy up the roadway.
“We’ve found a lot of junk including a lot of beer cans and straws,” said Sydney Mugan, a participant through Interact.
Her sidekick Kelsi Knoll said, “Every little bit helps in the cleanup.”
Rotarian Bonnie Debroux, executive director of the Family Center, collected several bags of trash. “I do it because I don’t like the way the highway looks,” she said. “We came out at 8:30 a.m.; I just don’t understand why people litter like this!”
The West Bend Sunrise Rotary meets 7:15 a.m. Tuesday morning at New Perspective Senior Living, 2130 Continental Drive, 4th Floor Conference Room. Click HERE to learn more.
