Obituary | Beverly Jane Hurth, 87, of Hartford

October 13, 2019 – Hartford, WI – Beverly “Bev” Hurth (Nee Sherman), 87, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Eagle’s Wings Assisted Care Facility in Beaver Dam. She was born in Milwaukee on May 21, 1932 to parents Eugene and Louise (Klippel) Sherman. Bev grew up in Richfield with all of her cousins and would often mention that those were some of the happiest times of her life.

She was a 1950 graduate of Hartford High School. Bev was united in marriage to Gordon Hurth on June 16, 1951 and they lived in Hartford for over fifty years. She worked at Micro Design in Hartford for many years and was the secretary at the Methodist church and also played the piano there.

Bev enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a terrific cook and made some of the best desserts, especially her mini cheese cakes which her grandchildren loved and were a part of the dessert table at one of their weddings.

Bev is survived by her three sons, Rick (Neide) of FL, Randy (Eva) of IL and Ron (Barb) of Beaver Dam; nine grandchildren, Doug (Andrea) Hurth, Ryan (Emily) Hurth, Mitch Hurth, Alina (Matt) Schmidt, Tyler Hurth, Steven (Kim) Hurth, Lauren (Tony) Mers, Mara (Jake) Clark and Shana (Keenan) McKenna; ten great-grandchildren, Valerie, Everett, Quincy, Whitman, Emmett, Georgia, Lacey, Kylie, Landon and Jaxon; also survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Carl Otto and husband, Gordon.

Funeral Services for Bev will be held at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union St., Hartford on Friday, October 18 at 12 Noon. Visitation for family and friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Committal to follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery, Beaver Dam. The family sends their deep gratitude to Eagle’s Wings and Hillside Home Care and Hospice for their care and support.
